Why Religion is required?

Without religion we cannot find anyone to give thanks for all the excellencies of life in this world.

Without religion we cannot prevent from the possible danger and harm we may get after death.

But I don't believe on life after death. For me everything will end with my death then why I should live with restrictions and boundries.
